Mary Nye Bennett
Mary Nye Bennett, a proud Georgia native, has spent the past 16 years as a professional in the artistic community. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2001 with a BFA in Musical Theatre performance. She incredibly proud to call this city her home and is grateful to live in a city with such a strong and vibrant Artistic community. Locally, she has performed at the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, the Alliance Theatre, Actors Express, Theatre in the Square and the Aurora theatre. She took her first teaching job in 2001 as choreographer for Rocky Mountain Reparatory theatre’s Youth Theatre program in Grand Lake, Colorado where she was a company member for 8 years. She eventually advanced to Director of the entire Youth Theatre Workshop program. Her Atlanta Lyric journey started as an actor in the 2009 production of Hairspray. In 2012, Mary joined the Lyric administrative staff as Director of Education and Development. In December of 2016, Mary was selected to take over as Artistic Director of the Lyric. She is thrilled to be tasked with delivering the highest quality entertainment to her patrons as well as providing enriching artistic opportunities the great talent in this city!
Stephanie Polhemus received a BA in Theatre from the University of West Georgia and an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a freelance Scenic Designer, Props Designer, and Stage Manager who has worked with Williamstown Theatre Festival, Georgia Shakespeare, Serenbe Playhouse, the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, and Georgia Ensemble Theatre among others. She is also currently the Resident Scenic Designer at Georgia Ensemble Theatre. She came to the Lyric after spending seven years teaching theatre at the University of West Georgia. She first worked with the Lyric in 2011 as a Props Designer and is thrilled to be joining the Lyric team full-time!
Christy Baggett has called Atlanta home for more than 25 years. Graduating with a degree in Accounting from Mississippi State University, she moved to Georgia to start her career with Arthur Andersen and eventually transitioned to a corporate accounting and finance position with Turner Broadcasting. Realizing she had more of a heart for connecting with others within the corporate world than crunching numbers, Christy found herself working as a finance and accounting recruiter for Acsys, Inc. where she honed her business development skills for over 10 years. Christy also has a passion for music and theatre and has been performing on Atlanta stages for over 20 years including productions at the Lyric, the Alliance, Theatrical Outfit, Actor’s Express, Theater Emory, Stage Door Players, the Legacy, among others. In addition to performing on stage, Christy has worked in the background of arts organizations in teaching artist and arts administration roles and is represented by Crossbeam Talent for TV, film and commercial work. She is thrilled to join the Lyric family in this capacity and looks forward to further cultivating the Lyric’s generous donor and sponsor base while strengthening relationships within the community.
Box Office Manager
Koby graduated from Reinhardt University in 2013 with a BFA in Musical Theatre after attending Shorter University for the majority of his college career. He has been working as a professional actor since then at places like the Lyric, the Alliance, and Tell-Tale Children’s Theatre. He joined the Lyric team as an actor in December of 2012 and then jumped onboard full-time in October of 2015 as Box Office Manager. He could not be more thrilled to be a part of this wonderful team!
Jessica De Maria
Marketing and Development Coördinator
Jessica De Maria is an Atlanta based performer, writer, educator and Arts Administrator. Jessica most recently served as the Development Manager at Actor’s Express and has been on the staff at Georgia Shakespeare and Horizon Theatre. She has taught acting, improv, puppet making, playwriting and collaborative arts with the Alliance Theatre, Georgia Ensemble Theatre, the Center for Puppetry Arts, Serenbe Playhouse and Aurora Theatre. Jessica also devotes her time to creating original musicals with her writing partner, Chase Peacock. She has appeared in many productions and projects around Atlanta. Jessica is a proud graduate of Oglethorpe University and holds a masters degree from the University of South Florida.
Liz Campbell is a graduate of Niagara University where she earned a BFA in Theatre in 2003. Originally from Buffalo, she has been living in Atlanta since 2004, working as a Stage Manager with the Alliance Theatre, Theatrical Outfit, and Horizon Theatre among others. She first joined the Lyric family in 2013 as the Stage Manager for Ragtime. Liz is happy to be part of the team and is excited about aiding in the enrichment of our astounding local artistic community.
Troy Parker, graduated from Reinhardt University in 2013 with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance. Locally, he has performed at 7 Stages, Fabrefaction Theater, Stone Mountain Park and Telltale Children’s Theatre. Regionally, at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse, ArtSpot Educational Theatre (International Tour) and in Texas: The Musical Drama at the Palo Duro Canyon. He began working for the Lyric as a Stage Manager, and was thrilled to accept the offer to become the House Manager at the beginning of 2017! Currently he works full time at Stone Mountain Park as the Marketing Coördinator, with three fur babies, Chip, Della, Ranger, and his wonderful husband, Koby, at home. He is honored to be a part of this fan-freakin-tastic and delightful team!
Jeff Macko received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Loyola University, New Orleans. A native of Detroit, Jeff transplanted to Atlanta in 2000 after spending 26 years playing and teaching in New Orleans. Since arriving in Atlanta, Jeff has played with The George Carre Band, the Atlanta Wind Symphony, Bob Martin’s Take Note Big Band, “Sparklett,” the Peach Trio, the Mount Paran Church of God Orchestra, the Stage Door Players, the Laigh Langley Band, “Group Therapy,” the Rehoboth Baptist Church Orchestra, “Inquiring Minds,” The Alan Knieter Orchestra, The Sugarloaf Community Church Band, “Mixed Company,” the John’s Creek Baptist Church Orchestra, and The Atlanta Lyric Theatre.
Elizabeth Neidel Wexler
Elizabeth Neidel Wexler is a graduate from Kennesaw State University where she received a BA in Theatre and Performance Studies with a minor in Dance. She has performed and choreographed for numerous Atlanta theatre companies, including over 20 Atlanta Lyric Theatre productions. Elizabeth has a group sales background from the Alliance Theatre, Young Audiences and the Woodruff Arts Center, selling tickets for their Theatre for Youth productions and Education Programs. Elizabeth is elated to join the Atlanta Lyric team!
