Staff Bios

Mary Nye Bennett
Artistic Director

Mary Nye Ben­nett is a proud Geor­gia native, has spent the past 13 years as a pro­fes­sion­al actor and teach­ing artist. She grad­u­at­ed from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mis­sis­sip­pi in 2001 with a BFA in Musi­cal The­atre per­for­mance. She is proud to call Atlanta her home and is grate­ful to live in such a strong Artis­tic com­mu­ni­ty. Local­ly, she has per­formed at the Atlanta Lyric The­atre, the Alliance The­atre, Actors Express, The­atre in the Square and the Auro­ra the­atre. She took her first teach­ing job in 2001 as chore­o­g­ra­ph­er for Rocky Moun­tain Repara­to­ry theatre’s Youth The­atre pro­gram in Grand Lake, Col­orado where she was a com­pa­ny mem­ber for 8 years. She even­tu­al­ly advanced to Direc­tor of the entire Youth The­atre Work­shop pro­gram. In Atlanta, Mary has been a teach­ing artist at Auro­ra The­atre, The­atre in the Square and most recent­ly at the Mar­cus Jew­ish Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­ter of Atlanta. She is thrilled to be a part of team Lyric!


Amy Quinn
Company Manager

Amy has been work­ing with Atlanta Lyric The­atre for ten years in a vari­ety of capac­i­ties. Before join­ing The Lyric staff, Amy worked for sev­er­al oth­er com­pa­nies includ­ing, 14 th Street Play­house, The­atre Gail, Onstage Atlanta and Galaxy Music The­atre. Amy helped with the 2007 ren­o­va­tion of The Byers Stu­dio The­atre in our pre­vi­ous loca­tion, where she also ran lights and sound for our pop­u­lar Sum­mer Series and stage man­aged The Lyric pro­duc­tions of Lit­tle Shop of Hor­rors, 1940’s Radio Hour and For­ev­er Plaid. Amy served as Stage Man­ag­er for Any­thing Goes and Peter Pan at The Ferst Cen­ter in our 2007-08 sea­son and took charge as Box Office Man­ag­er for our 2008-09 sea­son, when the move to our new venue, The Earl Smith Strand The­atre, opened that oppor­tu­ni­ty. Addi­tion­al­ly, Amy has been Stage Man­ag­er of Smokey Joe’s Café and The Will Rogers Fol­lies and stage crew for The IT Girl.


Jeff Macko
Orchestra Manager

Jeff Macko received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Per­for­mance from Loy­ola Uni­ver­si­ty, New Orleans. A native of Detroit, Jeff trans­plant­ed to Atlanta in 2000 after spend­ing 26 years play­ing and teach­ing in New Orleans. He has been a mem­ber of or has played with the fol­low­ing: the New Orleans Pops Orches­tra, the New Orleans Civic Sym­pho­ny, the New Orleans Bal­let Orches­tra, the Jef­fer­son Sym­pho­ny, the Louisiana Phil­har­mon­ic Orches­tra, and the Cres­cent City Wind Sym­pho­ny. A very active musi­cian in the­atre, Jeff has played for over 130 musi­cals and was the drummer/​percussionist for the Jef­fer­son Per­form­ing Arts Soci­ety The­atre Wing for sev­en sea­sons, for the Tulane Sum­mer Lyric The­atre for sev­en years, for Le Petite The­atre du Vieux Carre for three years, and for River­town Reper­to­ry The­atre for five years. Also, being the house per­cus­sion­ist for the Saenger The­atre in down­town New Orleans for six sea­sons gave Jeff the oppor­tu­ni­ty to play for many Broad­way road shows, includ­ing “The Will Roger Fol­lies,” “Crazy for You,” “Grease,” and Disney’s “Beau­ty and the Beast.” On drum set, he has played with a very wide vari­ety of groups in the Cres­cent City, most notably “Jubi­la­tion,” the New Orleans Saints Band, the 1984 Louisiana World Expo Band, the Jim­my Maxwell Band, and the Jer­ry Leonard Soci­ety Orches­tra. Jeff has been teach­ing drums for the past 24 years, and was the drum set /​per­cus­sion instruc­tor at Tulane Uni­ver­si­ty where he taught for 15 years, from 1985 to 2000.

Some of the artists that Jeff has had the priv­i­lege of play­ing for include: Ray Charles, Reg­is and Kathy Lee, Steve Allen, Jodi Ben­son, Frank Gor­shin, Robert Goulet, Marie Osmond, Jer­ry Lewis, Flo­rence Hen­der­son, the 5th Dimen­sion, the Coast­ers, the Plat­ters, and Tony Bennett.

Cur­rent­ly, Jeff is the drum /​per­cus­sion instruc­tor at Ken Stan­ton Music in Roswell and Atlanta Music Acad­e­my in Suwa­nee. He has also taught at the fol­low­ing venues in the metro Atlanta area: Cam­bridge Acad­e­my of Music (Alpharet­ta), Ken Stan­ton Music (Mari­et­ta), Music Dox (Mari­et­ta), McEach­ern Band Con­ser­va­to­ry (Pow­der Springs), and Attina’s Music (Fayet­teville). Jeff has act­ed as a coach for the per­cus­sion sec­tions of Crabap­ple Mid­dle School and Ridgeview Mid­dle School, and found­ed and direct­ed a per­cus­sion ensem­ble at High Point Ele­men­tary School, which pre­miered pieces that he wrote in May 2001 and May 2002.

Since arriv­ing in Atlanta, Jeff has played with The George Carre Band, the Atlanta Wind Sym­pho­ny, Bob Martin’s Take Note Big Band, “Sparklett,” the Peach Trio, the Mount Paran Church of God Orches­tra, the Stage Door Play­ers, the Laigh Lan­g­ley Band, “Group Ther­a­py,” the Rehoboth Bap­tist Church Orches­tra, “Inquir­ing Minds,” The Alan Kni­eter Orches­tra, The Sug­ar­loaf Com­mu­ni­ty Church Band, “Mixed Com­pa­ny,” the John’s Creek Bap­tist Church Orches­tra, and The Atlanta Lyric Theatre.


Koby Parker
Box Office Manager

Koby grad­u­at­ed from Rein­hardt Uni­ver­si­ty in 2013 with a BFA in Musi­cal The­atre after attend­ing Short­er Uni­ver­si­ty for the major­i­ty of his col­lege career. He has been work­ing as a pro­fes­sion­al actor since then at places like the Lyric, the Alliance, and Tell-Tale Children’s The­atre. He joined the Lyric team as an actor in Decem­ber of 2012 and then jumped onboard full-time in Octo­ber of 2015 as Box Office Man­ag­er. He could not be more thrilled to be a part of this won­der­ful team!


Daniel Pattillo
Production Manager

Daniel proud­ly serves as the Pro­duc­tion Man­ag­er for the Atlanta Lyric The­atre where he has worked in var­i­ous roles since 2010. An Atlanta native Daniel has worked with numer­ous the­atres and pro­duc­tion com­pa­nies in the area since com­plet­ing his under­grad­u­ate degree at Colum­bus State in 2008. You have pre­vi­ous­ly heard his work as a sound engi­neer on Lyric pro­duc­tions includ­ing, The Mika­do, The Full Mon­ty, West Side Sto­ry, and the Stu­dio remount of Bee­hive. when not at the Lyric Daniel works as a sound engi­neer and photographer.
